practices with? Then the NYC SHRM Directors’ Forum is the Special Interest Group for you! We are an
intimate group of HR practitioners with titles ranging from Director to Vice President, Chief People
Officer and more!
Our responsibility is to set the entire people strategy for our companies or divisions by working across
all functional areas of Human Resources. We are committed to learning about new trends, sharing
ideas, and best practices with colleagues. Our monthly meetings feature both external guest speakers
as well as round-table discussions. We seek advice from and share information with each other that
continues through email exchanges about the issues and initiatives we are working on. We are
responsive quickly to the events of the time. For example, at the beginning of the pandemic, we held
weekly meetings with experts in different fields to help us understand the new legislation and the
issues we had to consider as we created plans for our senior leaders on remote work and returning to
the office. If you are looking to implement a new program or seek a vendor, most likely one of our
members has information that can help you because they have had experience with it. Currently, we
meet virtually but look forward to the time when we can return to our in-person meetings as well.
