Has It Really Been Two Years? – Weekly Update

Ken Meyer, SHRM-SCP, SPHR | Principal, KWM HR Consulting LLC

Has it really been two years? This is my last President’s Message to you. I really do not know where to begin.

First, I want to thank the Board of Directors for their support, dedication, and commitment to the membership of this great chapter. I also want to thank the Leadership Council for their commitment to our chapter. Their collective expertise has provided us with outstanding programming in order to make our members the best they can be. Our Board and Leadership Council are the ones who make the magic happen. They will forever have my respect and my admiration.

Next, I want to thank the folks at Jaffe Management for all of their hard work to benefit our chapter. Mary, Jenny, Gari, and Mariela, led by David Jaffe, have done an incredible amount of good work for our chapter. I truly appreciate this team of professionals as they help guide us as we move the chapter forward.

I also want to thank the entire membership for their hard work and their dedication to the Human Resources profession. We are 1,400 members strong, leading our organizations for us to make our workplaces better and, through doing that, make our world better.

We have achieved much during the last two years increasing our in-person programming, increasing our communication and increasing our influence. All of these achievements culminating in our chapter winning the 2023 Silver Excel Award from the Society for Human Resource Management. We, all 1,400 of us, have much about which to be proud. We truly set the standard.

I know our new President, Alex Salas, is going to do an awesome job, elevating our chapter to the next level. He is an amazing individual, and I consider myself fortunate to have him as both a colleague and a friend. As I move on to my role as Immediate Past President, I look forward to helping Alex and the chapter to continue to achieve great things.

In closing, I would like to say that I consider it and honor and a privilege to have been able to serve you. I hope I met your expectations of me and I wish all of you the best.

So, I guess I did know where to begin after all.

Be well.
