On behalf of New York City SHRM, we want to acknowledge the difficult times we are experiencing with both the Covid-19 pandemic and social unrest. As HR professionals, our responsibility extends beyond our friends and family. We have a duty to our employees as well.

Better workplaces come from better understanding. Better workplaces come from an open mind, an open heart and a willingness to listen. Many employees are angry, scared and hurting.  We must provide sympathy and empathy as we strive for better answers. We are committed to fighting injustice and inequality by equipping our members with the tools and resources needed to navigate difficult conversations and scenarios.

Let’s work together to build a climate of inclusion for better workplace cultures.
